Why I'm blogging ...

Hello friends and family.  I decided to start this blog / diary of my adventures instead of continuing to blow your phones up! Ha!  When I went part-time last year I decided I wanted to get outdoors more.  I have always enjoyed camping and trail riding, but I want to slow down and enjoy other aspects of the outdoors.  I started out trying to cycle again, but about 2 months in I tore my meniscus in my left knee.  I didn't know that's what was going on at the time because I'm not one to go to the Dr.  I tried to carry on and would ice/NSAIDS/elevate when needed.  I took a break from cycling and started walking/hiking and kayaking.

I will probably go back and back post some of those nature adventures as well.  I raised Monarch butterflies!  and spent a lot of time building my own little bird / reptile habitat as well right here at home.  Sometimes you don't have to go far to get out there and enjoy nature.

I joined a local hiking group on Facebook - Houston's Women's Hiking Group - HWHG and joined.  This has really expanded my adventures.  So they have inspired me to join in on many of their camping adventures.  I am joining in on some of there day hikes / adventures as well.

Fred and I took trips to Flower Mound TX, Aurora CO., and Albany, Ga. to visit family.  But everywhere I went, I worked in lots of nature time.

I camped at Lake Houston Wilderness Park, Huntsville State Park, Double Lake Recreation Area in Coldspring, Martin Dies State Park, Brazos Bend State Park, and Ink's Lake State Park.  I will back post info on these are possible add this year and I have all of these on my list to camp this year!

I'm excited to share with you some new places and oldies I will be visiting this year - weather permitting!
